Vermont has an active IT industry with over 240 firms providing career opportunities for network security analysts.  The IT industry in the state receives a boost from the Vermont Information Technology Center.  Among other things, this organization helps small businesses use IT in their operations and reinforces the image of Vermont as being committee to staying on the leading edge of IT.  October, 2012 was designated as Information Technology Month by the Governor of Vermont.
